Plants Can Help LEED-Certified Building Projects Earn Credits.
Currently, the USGBC’s LEED system doesn’t include direct credit for including interior plants. However, some architects, builders, and owners have successfully highlighted plants for sustainability recognition as part of the LEED section titled “Innovation in Design.” Plans for specially developed plant usage or plants within a type of educational design may apply.
